Where My Own Love Story Really Started
Oh where to begin…. Well, 1757 Golf Club was my own wedding venue, so I get all the feels when I think about it! My husband and I met at a fine dining restaurant called ‘Crescendo Bistro’ in Old Town Warrenton in 2009. I came in to apply for a job and he was the manager on duty. I filled out the application and he was… well, very attentive, haha! Later I found out that he went back to the Chef (Rob Fleming) and told him to hire me or he was quitting (SO sweet!)!
We worked together for just three months and then Chef decided to close the restaurant and start a new adventure. Immediately after, I started my first position in the Event/Hospitality industry… and I absolutely loved it!
Then…. He Closed The Deal
Adam and I got engaged (more on that in another post!) and we heard that Chef Rob now worked for 1757 Golf Club. Because his restaurant was where we met, I wanted to tie that part of our love story into our wedding day. We knew we wanted him to prepare the food for our guests.
So we scheduled the tour at 1757 Golf Club and we fell in love! The Ballroom is large, neutral (which can be difficult to find) and the patio expanding the length of the ballroom is an added indoor/outdoor bonus! (Sidenote: it’s SUPER gorgeous when you add uplighting- it really transitions the space to FEEL like a wedding/party.)
An All-Inclusive Wedding Venue
1757 Golf Club is an “all-inclusive” venue, which means that tables, chairs, linen, china, food and beverages are all provided in house- this can mean much more bang for your buck and 100% less time and energy required from the event client. [It really checks all the boxes if you don’t enjoy planning every aspect of the day.]
Indoor or Outdoor Ceremony- Which will you choose?
The outdoor ceremony option is located on the patio overlooking the gorgeous, clean backdrop of the putting area with option for tenting that area in case of rain or utilizing the Ballroom as the back up plan. [The space can be divided in two by a huge partition wall (it’s neutral in color, so doesn’t take away from the room) and you can choose between the smaller Monroe Room or the larger Washington room for your back up plan in case of inclement weather. During cocktail hour, the wall opens and the tables are shifted back into their proper space.]
Guests exit the ceremony and head to the Restaurant for Cocktail Hour which is cleared out to showcase a gorgeous mahogany wine cooler and large bar. The restaurant extends out to the patio and guests can enjoy sitting outside under the covered tables. Chef’s crab cakes and HUGE charcuterie board (which takes TWO people to carry!) are always huge hits… and don’t get me started on the Bacon Wrapped Scallops… YUM!!!!

Fast forward to just two months following our wedding and I was extended the position as Event Manager and I jumped at the offer!
